2007, Gavin Karns was a writer who lived in Athens with his wife and children. To keep his writing ‘habit’ going, he had night work on the side as a night guard at the bank. The lack of sleep and his already volitile personality started to take its toll, and he began scare his family. When she filed for divorce, he believed that his wife might be having an affair, and he hired John Noir, an old family friend, to get proof of this. Constance Karns was having an affair with Gavin’s twin brother, Peter. Peter and John had been good friends in highs school, so John sought Peter out before giving Gavin any information, and begged him to wait until they could make arrangements and leave Athens, but it was already too late.
Later that week, Gavin murdered his family and then turned the knife on himself, bleeding to death with his wife in his arms.
